What did the government of the Lazio Region in the period 2005 - 2010

ENVIRONMENT

Total investments in 2005: 1.2 billion

Water: 450 million for "regional plan for water protection", implementation of water saving measures, re-use of wastewater treatment plants.

Soil: 133 million to safeguard against the risk of landslides and floods.

coastal erosion: 50 million for defense the coast of Latium, now 96% of coastal bathing.

Protected Areas: 139 million earmarked for the Parks of the region, were established 10 new protected areas, including: Park Lake and the mountains Ausoni Funds dell'Arcionello valley nature reserve, subject to extension Lake Vico, Faito forest.

Air Quality: 36 million allocated, approved the plan for air quality, was strengthen the network of air monitoring in urban areas, study for the reduction of noise in proximity to Ciampino dell'aeroprto.

Environmental Education 15 million was invested in environmental education projects and campaigns.

AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES

Allocated a total of 655 million for the Rural Development Plan 2007 to 2013. Were approved as many as 8 sector laws, including the law on the use of GMOs and on rural tourism which has made rural tourism activities increase by 140% in 3 years.
